I’m beginning to think that a significant number of LEOs, as evidenced by their refusal to vax, may be sympathetic to Trumpism if not entirely ideologically aligned (is there really an ideology, though?)

The ideology here is “I am the authority. I am an asshole. Fuck you and your feelings.”
