In the particular example you listed of BHO and Jeremiah Wright, let me give you a more harmless interpretation which may or may not be true but you should consider.

Do you think its possible it could have been less about seeing BHO in that church and more about seeing BHO in A CHURCH? If we only just barely managed to elect a catholic half a century ago, something tells me an athetistic/agnostic would have had no chance running for President…
