Not true at least for Russia. While Easter is the “main” one, Christmas is a close second.
Do you think at least some of that might be due to a combination of the suppression of the Orthodox Church for many years along with perhaps a wider exposure to ‘western’ thought in Russia compared to some of the other former Soviet bloc nations? And, of course, those Orthodox countries that weren’t part of it.
