i’d never heard of a ‘5’ chord, unless you meant the dominant which it didn’t seem you meant, but looking it up it seems to indicate what i’d call open fifths

Yes, that exotic, rarely-heard chord consisting only of the root and 5th, with the occasional octave. Certainly never, ever occurs in guitar-oriented rock and/or rock-derived music.
