Ross Douthat has weighed in on the cultural fallout from the Newtown shootings. He goes after Michael Bloomburg, as you’d expect, but then goes on to smack Wayne LaPierre even harder:

In the first two paragraphs of that op-ed piece, here’s how he describes the “left”:

“Self-consciously centrist liberalism of the Acela Corridor elite” (my favorite!)
“Provincialism”
“Liberal paternalism”

However, folks on his side — and I’d bet dollars to donuts this is self-descriptive — are the “thoughtful center-right.”
