I’d say Bright-bart, but only because the name comes from German. No idea about the pronunciation rules for Anglicized German surnames.

The rule is: use the stupidest mispronunciation you can think up—until somebody thinks up a stupider one. This applies to all nationalities.

Seriously, though: the war’s over, we canned the Kaiser. It’s time for American Jews whose names end in “Stein” to stop pronouncing it “steen” to sound “less German”.
