I have a question though: Everyone has been flipping out over the cost of the deductibles. If you have to have a procedure done, they will bill you for your the deductible, yes? Do you have to pay your share up front before you’ll be treated?

Our local hospital estimates what the deductible and co-pay will be and gives us a 20% discount on it if we pay that at the time of admission. The estimate is always on the high side, so we get the difference refunded fairly soon.
