One word: “Reconciliation.” They’ll club enough of their Senators over the head to pass this via reconciliation, which has a 50 vote bar as opposed to the 60 vote bar of cloture, because the bulk of this bill involves taxation and budgetary measures. It’s not about “fixing” anything, it’s about getting a point on the midterms scoreboard. Going into reelection season next year saying they fulfilled their promise to “repeal and replace Obamacare.”

But if they replace the ACA with something people don’t like, they own it and they know it. Even with only 50 votes needed, I have a hard time seeing this passing.
Not psychic. Could be wrong, but the wingnuts apparently hate it, and I just don’t see a huge up-side for the GOP in passing it.
