It always come back to the same thing: the 0-th rule is that the rules don’t apply to their in-group, because they’re a priori right (moral) and right (correct).

When they fuck up, it’s because something else is responsible…and if that fails, because they were “corrupted”…and if completely pinned, they beg to be forgiven, which wipes away what they did (this option is not available for out-group people). If someone is totally, damnably guilty, then it turns out they were secretly not Of The Body all along.

This is why accusations of hypocrisy never stick.
