Prior generations of Soviet leadership did not have Social Media to spread their poison nor the technical capacity to infiltrate our voting administration systems. The internet has opened access to all malefactors and given unlimited power to anyone, no matter how humble, with the technical skills to manipulate the data that underlies our civilization.

No, they just used people. While they have the ability to do what you said, we do actually have the ability to detect it as well, even if the Toddler-in-Chief and his hench-AG would like us to believe otherwise. Companies like Microsoft and Google are doing things to counter it.
