They just don’t check, during the early days of Afghanistan cluster munitions made headlines. The Seattle Times printed a picture of “unexploded US cluster bombs.” didn’t look like no cluster bomb to me so I did a little checking. Took less than a minute to ID them Russian mortar rounds, I send the page from FAS to the Seattle times, and nada. They didn’t care. Just a chance to bash the US Military.
