I made Creme Brulee for the first time today - dessert for my small (but very special) dinner party tomorrow night. Used Elton Brown’s recipe cuz who better? The recipe made two more ramekins than I need for tomorrow and I wanted to try it before I served it to be on the safe side.
OMFG, heaven in the mouth and that’s without the torched vanilla sugar. It’s made with fresh vanilla bean and has a richness and flavor that I have never tasted the like of before. I’m going to serve it with a sinfully delicious and potent after-dinner coffee drink (coffee, Irish Cream, Frangelica, and Grand Marnier). My guests will be here for the night so I can get them shit-faced safely.
