Sarah Jane has my vote since she goes back to my favorite of the original Doctors (and the first I remember watching in anything resembling real time - the 3d and 4th Doctors). Her role still manages to be relevant today and holds up well against the modern Doctors.

For the current iterations, I like Donna, particularly because of her relationship with David Tennant’s doctor. Rose and Amy are connected in a way for their very complicated relationship to their respective doctors. But I liked Rory as a companion since he was not only unwilling at the first, but he showed his true love for Amy shined through at every opportunity. He would do anything for Amy, whether it was going along for the ride in the TARDIS or standing watch outside the Pandorica.
