As soon as the white percentage seems close to dropping below 50%… Hispanic/Latino will be broken into hispanic white, hispanic black, and mestizo or indigenous. The white hispanics will suddenly become just white, and there they are back in the majority again.

It’s how the Irish became white. It’s how Italians became white. Jury’s still out on whether Ashkenazi are white.

So Sephardim are not white, right? That would make Abraham Cardozo the first nonwhite SC Justice instead of Thurgood Marshall…
