Yeah, I reported the Tweet and told this guy to take a look of U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark (1898). I also dug up his profile at the law school to try and understand why he styled himself “Doctor.” Well it turns out that he has a doctorate from Claremont University. Somehow, given Claremont’s reputation for some of its colleges being right wing holes, I am completely unimpressed.

I’m going to be blunt here, I think it’s tasteless to wave around the “Dr.” credential if you’re not an MD, DO, DMD, DDS or someone who does medical work. I also think it’s tasteless to put “Esq” in one’s Twitter handle like a certain Jenna Ellis. This is just a me thing. I don’t expect anyone to follow me on my peccadillos.
