These connections to wackos and Birchers are going to bite the GOP in the ass, big time. I’m seeing all these people predicting big wins for the Republican Party next November — I think they’re going to have huge losses. We’re about to see a Democratic majority in government for the next 20 years, and at this point that will be a good thing, because the GOP has gone insane.

I don’t agree. It think the GOP will make modest gains. The weirdo will cause some harm, but there will be enough good candidates and disgust with the Dems to cancel it out. However, if saidsame nuts proceed to force the GOP to engage entirely in protest politics in 2011-2012, then the GOP will see a large loss in 2012 and Obama will cruise to victory. Either way, my home state of Illinois has some excellent Republican candidates who are not crazies. I’m going to help them get elected in the small ways that I can help and then do what I can to make sure they stay same.
