I saw Happy Warrior use a word above to describe Bernie that got me to thinking.

The word: Selfish.

And I am thinking the word may describe more than just Bernie. It may describe his whole campaign and in a way some of his supporters.

They want ‘their’ candidate. They want their money in better wages and fairer taxes, free college, free insurance…no wars as in isolationism, no trade with anyone else, etc. Nothing that takes their effort.

And if they don’t get their way, then they will stamp their feet, refuse to vote, or vote for the evil candidate to get their way on down the road after they ruin everything in the process.

Sure we have our economic, trade and foreign affair issues. Big issues. But this is still a democracy and we hope to make more of the world democracies too and one way to do that is to share power and share the benefits. It would make for a better and safer world for all.

But Bernie and his people don’t seem to care about others and don’t seem to want to work with others. They want theirs. Are they really selfish in their own political ways? And, does Bernie really reflect that in his own campaign even if in a subtle way to his followers?

Selfish is no way to run a democracy, no way to run the world and it sure as hell isn’t socialist!

Sure you can have socialism trappings and maybe Bernie is a true democratic socialist. But are all of his followers socialists too or are they in it for the Bernie Benefits???

Just a thought. One word hit me and made me think of Bernie’s supporters in a different way.

I know one thing as a 61 year old artist. I was around a lot of people that saw themselves as hippies. They were all for peace love and understanding. I saw what happened to many of them. They became Yuppie consumers that were all about themselves and what they could gather. I have a feeling a similar dynamic might be occurring in the new Sanders Revolution.

It’s just so frustrating because honestly I was on board with Bernie for a while. I really thought there needed to be an alternative to Clinton and I was really hoping he could emerge as a reasonable voice but instead he’s shown himself to be a complete as we said selfish candidate. I don’t know what his deal is but this kind of stuff should disappoint his core supporters but instead they’re likely to ignore it since finding fault with Bernie at this point is impossible for them to do.
