Is there a rational reason for having the debt limit? I am hard pressed to figure out why someone doesn’t just point out that this is a stupid law and not something worth fighting over regularly. Is there a single reason to keep the debt limit beyond being able to pick a political fight that, best case scenario, ends in a Pyrrhic victory for one side?
