We don’t get a lot of snow. What we get is a lot if ice when we get anything at all. No one can drive on ice. I was stationed at K. I. Siberia when I was flying for SAC. Snow is easy to drive in. Ice is just impossible.
The last time I was down in Dallas visiting a friend there was an ice storm that was ravaging the plains from Texas all the way up to Iowa. The day I flew back home I was watching the line between rain and ice move across Dallas/Fort Worth and I made my friend take me to the airport early. Bridges were starting to ice up badly on the drive and I was completely white knuckled as a passenger. My friend (originally from Louisianna) drove it like a champ. I can do snow just fine but I’m scared shitless when I have to drive on ice.
My flight got out of Dallas OK but a few hours late. Everything was coated with white (not snow) almost all the way back to MN.
