It’s all quite simple, really. Hamas intends to win the PR war because they can’t win militarily, just as Hezbollah successfully did a couple of years ago.

Middle-Eastern terrorists, aided and abetted by Western media, will win this war in Gaza; that you can bet everything on.

Its only a question of time before Israel leaves and whatever is left of Hamas crawls out of its hole and declares victory over the “Zionist occupiers”. That’s inevitable.

But that’s not the metric of Israeli success here. Nobody thinks that this action will entirely eliminate Hamas. Israel simply lacks the stomach to inflict the massive collateral damage that would be necessary to accomplish that.

If Israel *is* able to make a significant and lasting dent in Hamas’ ability to carry out terror attacks, then this will be a “win” for Israel. As important, if Israel is able to make a significant and lasting dent in Hamas’s standing within Palestine and the Arab world, then that would also be a “win” for Israel.
