He was big and black and selling cigarettes for a few cents of profit each. I can’t imagine even trying to sell individual cigarettes in front of a store. That world is so far removed from the world I live in I can’t even imagine what it’s like. How much is he making per cigarette? 25 cents at most? Figure $5 a pack, if he sells them for .50 each he makes enough to buy two packs to sell…that’s third world commerce - like children on the streets in Manila selling flowers in traffic.

In addition to not understanding how there was no indictment, I’m amazed at the level of poverty we see in this country without batting an eye.
