What’s frustrating about conservative Dems is they’re often in states that are actually less well off than states with more liberal Dems but because those states are more conservative, there’s pressure to vote against things like ACA. That’s why I do respect the other Democrat that will be running for VA’s governor seat. Periello had a pretty conservative district. He voted for ACA, didn’t attempt to weasel his way out of it, and was proud of his vote. He still did lose but it was better than what I’ve seen many Dems do.

It doesn’t help to sell a policy when Congresscritters can’t be bothered to go out and explain it to citizens.
