The desire to destroy public education in favor of private schools and home schooling has been a far right dream for many decades. This is the purpose of this and other legislation creating thought crimes deemed by white supremacism.

BTW, the target schools in this effort are not black or Latino schools (which will be largely ignored) but to target mainly the white schools so that the culture of white power remains unquestioned for decades longer.

The parents who are calling for classroom surveillance couldn’t afford private schools (and need schools to babysit their kids while they’re working). I see no reason not to take them at face value — they want to spy on teachers to see that they’re not teaching them anything that might upset their parents’ world view.
