I let one of my students borrow my copy of Bladerunner, and she was flabbergasted that it was made all the way back in 1982. She loved it.

And again, Bladerunner isn’t for everyone.

I’m old enough that I still think of Bladerunner as a modern film. Since it didn’t depend on a specific future history, and since it’s very stylized rather than trying for some kind of ‘accuracy’, the anachronisms aren’t glaring, either.
