On the issue of passport revocation, it would appear that a bill signed by President Obama allows the IRS to notify the State Department over certain unpaid taxes (to prevent fleeing the country to avoid paying them).
It would appear the speculation is this could be weaponised to revoke anyone’s passport, though that is not what the law says. (This administration however seems to think the law is a convenience rather than mandatory, so we’ll see.)
Forbes has an explanation of how the law works. I would not fall under it as I don’t owe any taxes. (That said, if they tried to apply it to political opponents, like Democrats, I would be in real trouble.)
