Pardon my ignorance, but what’s a pellet stove? I assume it’s a wood-fired stove that uses recycled wood pellets instead of hardwood? Is that really cheaper than buying cords of cured hardwood?
I used to live in the UP of Michigan, and a good wood stove was extraordinarily efficient in the winter.
It has advantages. It’s hopper-fed, so there’s a constant burn rate rather than relying on parts burning away at unpredictable rates.
