And then the first part of August is Sturgis bike week. And those folks are not going to be wearing masks or social distancing. So they will catch it there and spread it around the country some more. And most of the people there are not just poor scruffy bikers, they’re pretty well off guys with 30K and up bikes. Lots of conservatives and wingnuts across the spectrum of wingnuttia. Yay. USA woot.

Yup. Sturgis is not far from Rapid City and they get huge crowds complete with drunken debauchery and zero inhibitions. Lots of police interactions too. It’s a guarantee for a superspreader event. They’re going ahead with it despite covid19, but some of the events have been cancelled or altered.

The 2018 event saw nearly half a million people in attendance. They’re coming from around the nation and the world for it (as in past years). This would make Tulsa’s spreader event look like small potatoes.
