I have a daily max on my card of $500. ATM, groceries, whatever. When I bought my Leica I had to have the branch manager approve a one time limit raise to $3000 (more than needed but they prefer that in case I needed to do anything else that day) for that transaction.

They didn’t used to be so accommodating. A number of years ago I was buying a computer. I was in the store trying to check out. Nope. Too much to use a debit card.

I called the bank. Nope. I called the fraud department. Nope. I had to go to the branch, which was like 1000 yards away, and take out $3000 cash to go buy the computer. Suffice it to say that I was pretty unhappy. I’m sure they’ve changed what they do since.

And thanks to everyone who answered my question about the iPhone.i posted it last night and promptly fell asleep. It has been quite a week.
