re: #108 Dangerman
i thought tv was universal - the same everywhere
growing up on long island, ny, i thought everyone had all the channels and the same programming we had
Heh. Wasn’t just the ’50s: I grew up in Los Angeles, and was used to a crowded channel lineup (including the “exotic” UHF channels, and the off-numbered ones from San Diego and Santa Barbara): when I moved to Denver in 1978, I was somewhat nonplussed to discover that Television consisted of just five over-the-air stations (the 3 Nets, PBS and a local one). And Cable a rare luxury.
And Denver was the media-market capitol of CO.
