I was making an update to my insurance policy and it came up that I’d worked on developing cellular 3G.

In response, the agent asked if there was any truth to the rumors about 5G.
So I explained that cell phones are just radios and that 5G just operates at a higher frequency, allowing more data to be transmitted. I also said that the only real issue was potential interference with some aircraft/airport equipment.

He ended by thanking me for taking time to explain and answer questions. He was thrilled to speak to someone with real knowledge and the ability to explain.

Sounded like someone who was filtering for cranks and was happy not to find one.
