True, but Coolidge just kept catching fish in South Dakota, not even making a minor show of being in crisis mode for weeks.

Fun fact: One of the Prohibition Agents assigned to augment Coolidge’s bodyguards was Richard James Hart. Not a household name to be sure, but you’ll be able to guess something about him when you read the name he was born with: Vincenzo Capone. He was Al Capone’s eldest brother, and like his younger brothers Al and Frank it is confirmed that he killed at least two people (though both were ruled justified in his case). I sometimes see that as proof that an aptitude for violence can run in families.
