“This is how you got Trump” is not a logical or moral argument, it’s a petulant whine. It’s the sound of white privilege feeling the pinch, of “alpha males” looking at their positions of privilege being torn down and not knowing how to react besides impotent rage, of the “working class” dealing with the systematic dismantling of everything they and their parents worked for by blaming “those people” rather than themselves for voting for hucksters and robber-barons because of fear of “those people.”
