I love Richard Thompson, but I also wish this tribute album had gotten more recognition. Here is one of many great covers:

I was off watching videos so I’m late with this, but there’s also another compilation of Richard Thompson songs called “The World is a Wonderful Place”. The artists aren’t as high a profile as “Beat the Retreat”, but it’s still very good.
