People in Asia have been eating out of bowls for at least the last 5,000 years, whether it be noodles or rice. This whole “bowl food” nonsense is yet another example of the gentrification of poor-people food.

Poke is simply deconstructed sushi. Bibim bowls, etc. are just food. Why is this generating some type of old-man yelling to get off his lawn. Food has always gone through cycles of taking peasant food and turning it into restaurant fare. We did French, Italian, all of Europe, now foodies are moving east.
