It’s not my area of expertise by any stretch of the imagination, but I did hear some legal talking head on one of the cable news channels say that because of the complexities of the campaign finance laws, it is one of the few areas where ignorance of the law is actually a defense. Of course, the idea that “I didn’t know it was illegal to accept foreign contributions” is a pretty stupid defense because that seems like the sort of thing that anyone that close to a campaign would have learned on day one.

True but it also helps to remember that Jr is a ridiculous pampered dilettante fail-son. The shit that galls me about it however is that all the lies undermine the defense by indicating consciousness of guilt.
