His entire business model is about walking away and paying pennies on the dollar. Anyone loaning to him should have been aware of that. Which means they made these loans for other reasons than simply earning interest.

Though a loan not made to earn interest implies that it’s also a loan where they won’t settle for “pennies on the dollar” towards settling it.

Either they sorta won’t care and thus won’t collect on their investment. Or, if they deem Trump worthy of destroying at the time they can opt to drag things out for full payment since money is not what is being negotiated for at the time.
