But if I’m honest, they played me well with Judith Miller and the non-stop loops of Saddam’s evil (a real thing) and his treatment of both the Kurds and the people who lived in the marsh areas (as I recall).

Saddam Hussein was a real piece of shit, to be sure, and he did have an unfortunate habit of giving the weapon inspectors the runaround, likely to boost his ego/credibility.
