I really do not understand the authoritarian mindset.

I think it’s part of human nature. Everybody has a touch of it and you see it all over the place. Richard Dawkins thinks raising children as Christians should be considered child abuse. Christian groups want to control the airwaves to protect the morality of children. Catholic league doesn’t want crappy artists to pee on a crucifix. CAIR doesn’t want you to draw Mohammed. etc. Everybody wants to be the censor.
