This kind of stuff, combined with my own experiences with police, is why I try to give them as wide a berth as possible.

It’s a tough job and I wouldn’t want to do it. It unfortunately seems like for every officer trying to do a good job, there’s another who is essentially a bully who shouldn’t be allowed to be a crossing guard, let alone an armed office.

I haven’t been to policeone.com, but if what you’re saying is true, I hope to God those guys are the exception to the rule.

I really hope they are as well. The comments are by definition a self selected sample, which means they have no statistical relation to the police community at large. That being said, an awful lot of the folks there frankly terrify me.

The comments on the NYC shooting are actually critical of the police involved, which is a rarity. Two accidental shooting incidents in a year involving bystanders in NYC seems to be too much even for the folks at Policeone.
