If this were in place, the ability of law enforcement to clear and secure the site would be even more difficult than it was today. Because you’d potentially have more than just the shooter to identify with firearms, but anyone else carrying.

That means people who might have been saved from death or more serious injuries or complications due to faster medical treatment would see their care delayed when cops are busy trying to figure out who the good guy(s) is/are from the bad guy(s).

As it is, the perpetrator was stopped and captured by law enforcement, which again would have been delayed or made more difficult by presence of more gun humping folks at the airport.
