War on hamburgers will start when E. coli strains become antibiotic resistant. Yes you can cook them at high heat but if they were raw the E. coli will still be on your kitchen counters.

A reminder, E coli strains have been in vegetables too. Spinach and romaine lettuce being recent issues.
