I still don’t think McConnell expected the blowback his strategy is getting. And unless he’s forbidding senators from reading polls, they’re seeing those numbers. And more damaging evidence is dropping almost daily - two major scandals have dropped since this afternoon. This all might be over soon, but it’s not over yet.

Honestly the impeachment managers to me demonstrated great dignity today. They were all what the House is meant to be, the people’s house and represented well the diversity of the party. These men and women are going to be part of the future House leadership someday. I felt that Rep Jeffries in particular attacked the absurdity of the Trump Doctrine if you can call it that. We were the jurors today as much as the 100 Senators today. The only people judging by interviews that Jay Sekulow is interested in is Trump’s base. And Trump’s base isn’t strong right now. Look at him. He was ranting about how Limbaugh and Hannity deserve the Nobel. If Trump had an advantage in 2016, it’s that he controlled the media narrative, he’s lost that.
