A friend of mine is a blond, blue-eyed white kid who was adopted after his father died by his father’s best friends, who are Jamaican. So he grew up in Jamaica, in an area 99% black. He speaks pure Jamaican patois when he wants to— black Jamaicans find it goddamn hilarious.
