Then this article at the Huffington post plays the story like some people in the neighborhood were just hanging out, and actually implies the dude deserved the beating since the police had been called prior and it was the beaten dude that instigated the fights.

I don’t get that from the story at all. What in the story makes you think they’re saying that the dude deserved the beating?
