Honestly, that analogy is patently offensive. I know that wasn’t your intent and I’m not upset, but in the future you really should reconsider using King in this kind of example. He died having actually accomplished something real and tangible for civil rights and equality.

So you are offended by the degree? I selected Dr. King precisely because he is only a difference of degree. My selection of Dr. King was deliberate.

Go back and read that analogy again. So because Dr. King was killed, we should abandon what Dr. King tried to accomplish with his life?

I agree that the cartoon frog is hardly on the level of Dr. King’s life work, however, both the ADL and the creator are also pushing back against creeping racism by trying to reclaim the frog from racists.

So if the ADL chose instead, “We’ll we’ll cede this ground because it is not worth it,” what happens when the next symbol is hijacked. Perhaps the Democratic Party symbol. Or the Christian Cross (as in my example above). Do you cede all ground?
