They’re in the minority, so the effort would get them precisely nowhere at this time. (And success at this time would give us President Pence.) After the midterms the Democrats have a good chance of regaining the House, and an impeachment twofer would give us a Democratic president. Also, the evidence for impeaching the VP now isn’t here yet.

At this point Trump has probably done all the damage he can. The rest, judicial nominations and such, would be no better, and perhaps worse, under Pence.
