They can claim that all they want, but their approach to honesty and open debate is straight from the Soviet playbook…as are their fantasies about saboteurs and infiltrators being the only cause of problems, their belief that affiliation dictates guilt/innocence, their view of history and facts as narratives to be actively dictated to fit party ideology, their self-serving ahistorical-ness, their excess concern with controlling women’s reproductive faculties, their continuous testing of party loyalty and doctrinal purity, and their own ideologically correct entertainment/artistic spheres.
