That’s an inadvertent admission that the party really has a problem, but doesn’t want to look within for the source of that problem. It would rather continue to deny that Trump has tapped the racist, nativist and sexist elements that form the backbone of the Republican Party.

Also pretty ironic that this statement comes from a female governor who’s Indian-American.

Again, the GOP had a chance to distance themselves from these people long ago, but failed to do so. The leadership discovered too late that these people had gained a critical mass and had hijacked the party.
