To me, disrespecting the troops is telling people they shouldnโt be able to kneel. Maybe I have no place as a non-veteran to say that but it really upsets me that even many veterans donโt get this.
You absolutely have a right as a non-veteran to say that. I took my affirmation to uphold and defend the Constitution (both as a seaman and as a local politician) to mean the whole Constitution and every person under its jurisdiction.
I am not offended when a person does not uphold one of the prescribed patriotic formulae of 4 USC. The I Amendment is part of what I affirmed I would uphold and defend, not 4 USC.
