I had a random/scary/dystopian thought: if Russia really wanted to screw with the country, they’d put their thumb on the scale next election in favor of Democrats, particularly in reasonably close Senate races, such that Dems took complete control of the federal gov’t. And by thumb on the scale, I mean changing vote totals (which I am fully confident that they did in 2016—I don’t buy that they would get as deep as they did in state voting systems just to see if they could).

Then, some time just prior to the new Congress being sworn in, they’d leak/release evidence showing their work.

I am pretty confident that it would trigger a civil war.
